Jenny: After reading Jenny’s writing portfolio I saw how she makes so many interpersonal connections in her own writing. My favorite connection shown is in her creative writing and I would never think to relate messy college students to The Nights book. I love that in this piece she brings up the question, “How can the culprit of these acts just be okay with what they did?”, and this is a very true statement. I feel that this is so relatable to many college students and even to the greater good of the world.
Zayna: After reading Zayna’s writing portfolio I saw it is filled with passion. One of the many great pieces in her work I want to highlight is the final essay. I really want to point out one line, “Aladdin’s features afford him privileges that others do not get” this is filled with fire and truly helps get the main point across of character white-passing appearances.
Sam: After reading Sam’s writing portfolio I could tell a great amount of thought was put into each piece. I liked the reflection of the film “The Thief of Baghdad” because it took a creative approach to exploring the film. It was interesting to hear how the colors in the film where used to display certain narratives about different characters.
